Inspired by all kinds of Natural Life

In my artistic practice, I dedicate my time to drawing and exploring natural subject matter through multiple types of dry media. I adore subjects from life, and using photographs from the natural world to create realistic and hyperrealistic drawings. This process includes studying and drawing living subjects in the form of plants, animals, and most notably, insects. Through my intensely detailed drawings, I spread my passion for the educational aspects behind learning about the natural world, and I call attention to species awareness and preservation. The media that I utilize in my drawings includes charcoal, colored pencils, graphite, and more. Iā€™m also very fascinated by toned paper, and working with different intensities of various colors in order to push the contrast of my work to the fullest extent. In my charcoal drawings I limit myself to using only grayscale, and the others are created using multimedia and a full range of vibrant color. Especially with my insect drawings, I vary the shape and size of the paper to a larger than life scale. In order to take my process beyond traditional paper techniques, I work with cutting and cropping the paper according to the specific species. Throughout all of my artwork, I prioritize my inspiration and connection through nature in order to create captivatingly layered scenes of natural beauty.
